THE YELLOW BUS BOYS GO BLUE: CANADA BOUND
In 1967, seventeen, Atlanta, high school boys embarked on an adventure of a lifetime, climbing aboard the little blue bus on a free, ten-day, summer vacation courtesy of the Warren Memorial Boys' Club. This year's trip sends them to Montreal, Canada and Expo '67.
Ronnie "Baby Whale" Shaw of THE YELLOW BUS BOYS is on his fourth such trip with several of his yellow bus boys friends. New characters will emerge during this "summer of love" vacation.
This outreach program was sponsored by the Boy's Clubs of America, McDonald's Hamburgers, and the Lions' Club for local boys who had attained perfect school attendance.
Climb aboard the bus with the boys and their adult chaperones for laughs, tears, and plenty of teenage hijinks as they plunder their way from Atlanta, Georgia to Montreal, Canada and back, hitting all points of interest in between.
They're a ragtag bunch of rowdy boys who manage to light up every tourist spot along their path. The people, places, and things they encounter will probably, never be the same.
A murder plot is hatched.
Will they all make it home in one piece?
Can the boys handle the pressure on this gantlet of a trip?
Will Niagara Falls claim an Atlanta boy?
Have the bail money handy, and be ready to laugh your primordial tail off.
Experience the metamorphosis as two of the boys are forced to grow into men while enjoying the seedy streets of the French section of Montreal.
The Yellow Bus Boys Go Blue Canada Bound is an excursion of riotous fun!
If you could have one date with a fictional character, who would it be? Selene (Kate Beckinsale from UNDERWORLD) because one date with her and a bite has the potential of lasting for centuries.
If you were an inmate on death row, what would you choose as your last meal? Carry out! The same meal John Coffey ordered in THE GREEN MILE with one addition: country fried steak, meat loaf, cornbread, mashed potatoes with gravy, okra and peach cobbler.
If I were to give you 1 million dollars today, what would you do with the money? Count it. Family members in need would receive most of it.
If you were in a Rock N' Roll band, what would the name of your band be called? HotW (Hair of the Whale)
If you could have one wild animal as a pet, what would it be? My wild animal pet of choice would be a dwarf epauletted fruit bat. I'd name him Pip after the little bat in my books MARY'S JOURNEY BEGINS and MARY'S JOUNEY CONTINUES. Look it up. They are cute.
If you could go on a vacation anywhere in the world where would it be? I would travel to the Netherlands, swinging by, picking up Cleo of @Talk2Cleo, and we would tour Europe. She knows all of the hot spots and the best Monk beer.
Are you a morning person or a night owl? Actually, I am both, being kind of like Paul Newman in THE LONG HOT SUMMER when advising his bathing and shaving preferences, I play in the morning and write nights.
What is the best invention during your lifetime? Hands down the Internet or Poo-Pourri...I'm conflicted
If you could live in any sitcom, which one would it be? No doubt about it, SOUTH PARK...I'm a natural as Eric Cartman or so I've been told, a lot, but in reality I'd be Kenny McCormick...isn't it odd that the little Irish boy is impoverished.
