About the Author
Being a true romantic, Valerie was thrilled when she discovered the genre of paranormal romance. Her first read was one of Lara Adrian’s, Midnight Breed Series and from there she was hooked.
Today, Valerie has decided to take her darker, sensual side and put it to paper. When she is not busy creating a world full of steamy, hot men and strong, seductive women, she juggles her time between a full-time job, hubby and her two German shepherd dogs, in Northern IL. Valerie is a member of Romance Writers of America and Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal Romance Writers.
Q&A with Valerie
Yes, I’d love to. Eternal Flame which is book 1 gives the readers an introduction to several cast members. It might seem a bit overwhelming at first, but don’t worry it levels out to tell the story of Guardian, Marcus and his mate Cassie. This series is chocked full of vampires, dragon shifters, demons and gods. In this book you will learn who the Guardians are and what their purpose is. Also I introduce you to the evil that is trying to invade the human world.
Book 2, Fatal Desire is all about Caleb, one of my sexy dragon shifters and his mate, Lileta. The main plot from book 1 continues, but I’ve added a few twists. Readers will get a closer look at the evil our immortals face and several surprises.
What can readers of the series expect to read in Primal Hunger?
This is Seth’s story, a Guardian you meet in book 1. Here I focus on his personal struggles and that of his mate, Katie. Readers will again be in for a few big surprises and will get a glimpse of who the gods really are. Our main villain is on the loose and all Hell is literally breaking free.
You are being featured in an upcoming Valentine’s Day Anthology, can you tell me about that project?
I’m so excited about Love Least Expected. We feature 9 authors with new short stories from historical romance to southern, fantasy, contemporary and paranormal. Many of the stories will later become full novels, but this is an excellent way to meet some new authors at a great price.. My story is called Fall into Darkness and is about an angel who is condemned to earth to find his humanity. While there he is forced to rescue a female in distress and well I don’t want to give any spoilers. The book is available for pre-order now for $0.99 and is releasing on Feb 3, 2015. I hope to have the full novel out in the fall.

Since this site is titled Inspired Writers, can you tell me a little bit about what inspires you?
It depends. Sometimes an idea will come from no place or maybe it can be something I see on TV. I’ve been inspired by a simple picture. Spanish Nights, A Jinn’s Seduction came from a sexy photo of a Spanish police officer. Go figure.
Do you have any advice for any new and aspiring authors?
Yes. Stay true to yourself. Don’t write what you think people will want to read and don’t listen to others that may try to steer you down another path. If your gut tells you it’s right then follow it. Only then will your story shine through and people will love it.
How can my readers best connect with you and learn about your books?
Stop by my website where you can see all my books and read a little of each. I’m also on Facebook and Twitter and readers can follow my storyboards on Pinterest.
