I wanted to take the time to give me wonderful readers a quick update about Inspired Writers. Between my working and personal life, I have not had the time to take on feature requests as frequently as I would have liked. Also, I was completely disheartened by some of authors whom I had take the time to create features. They did not do me (or themselves) the service of promotion their features. Like many people, I am really busy and the time that I put into these features could have been spent with my family or on my own personal writing.
I love promoting authors and I am a firm believer in helping other people, however some things need on this blog in order to keep in up and running. After a very helpful discussion with a dear friend (Yes Annie, I mean you!), I have decided to continue to help authors promote their work and also add in my on blog posts so that you can also get to know me and my writing. There are two changes that I will be making when it comes to promotional features. The first is that I will becoming more selective in choosing the authors that I decided to promote. I will be looking for authors in all genres who not only promote their own work but also support other authors. The second change that is being made is the number of posts per week that I complete. I was taking on an average of 4-5 posts per week. My new goal is to lower that to 1-2 posts per week. Some weeks I will be posts both a blog post and a feature post. Other weeks, it may be one or the other. This will give me more time to not only help promote the posts, but also allow me to make each post more unique and personal.
