Annie Acorn’s Beloved Christmas Treasuries
“It might be a good idea to publish some smaller offerings first,” Annie suggested.
“Such as?” Andre asked.
“I have some Christmas stories that folks might enjoy,” she replied.
“I do, too,” Juliette agreed.
“I’d be willing to write a couple myself,” Bev added her two cents worth.
An hour later, a website now taking shape somewhere in virtual space, Annie drew the others’ attentions. “If I contacted Peggy Teel and some of the members of the Birmingham Area Writers’ Group, we could collect a number of our Christmas stories together into an anthology.”
“A book would capture a wider readership than a single story,” Andre pointed out wisely.
Sometime later, over lunch, Annie again spoke up, “Since all of the Christmas book’s contributors will be women, we ought to highlight it in some way. What if we referred to the group of authors involved as From Women’s Pens?”
And so, Annie Acorn’s Annual Christmas Treasury was born. Filled with the scents, sounds, and joys of Christmas, the carefully crafted stories gathered together by the authors of From Women’s Pens instantly resonated with readers, who now eagerly await each new year’s offering.
To date, four of the treasuries have been published, and Annie confirms that there are no plans to stop producing the annual collections.
“Our readers have made it clear that they look forward to another visit to my Luna Lake Cabins, the newest entry in Juliette Hill’s Christmas Shoppe Magic series, a heart-warming Captain’s Point story from Charlotte Kent, and more laughter with either Susan Jean Ricci’s Cindy and Jay or her Scootie and Shelly,” Annie shares. “They also look forward to the very individual stories written by the talented Angel Nichols, who designed the ongoing cover.”
All four treasuries contain at least one story for each member of the family and are considered by many to be instant classics, brought out to be read again each year at Christmas. Would your family enjoy a new tradition?
